The Wisconsin State Department of Workforce Development provides JobRide grants to community groups for transporting workers to job interviews and jobs in outlying areas not now served by public transit.  The purpose of the program is to provide temporary transportation to suburban employment.

Key elements:

  • Transportation to and from jobs not accessible (on all three shifts) via fixed route public transportation.
  • Transportation to and from pre-employment testing and other job search activities.
  • A $2 per round-trip fare paid by the rider (for individuals starting a new job, the fare is waived until they receive their first pay check.)
  • A $2 per employee/per round-trip fare paid by the participating employer.
