The Wisconsin State Department of Workforce Development provides JobRide
grants to community groups for transporting workers to job interviews and jobs
in outlying areas not now served by public transit. The purpose of the
program is to provide temporary transportation to suburban employment.
Key elements:
- Transportation to and from jobs not accessible (on all three shifts) via
fixed route public transportation.
- Transportation to and from pre-employment testing and other job search
activities.
- A $2 per round-trip fare paid by the rider (for individuals starting a new
job, the fare is waived until they receive their first pay check.)
- A $2 per employee/per round-trip fare paid by the participating employer.
